California Plans to Pay Black Reparations

The Manchester Guardian reports:
California’s reparations taskforce has recommended compensating the descendants of enslaved and free Black people who were in the US in the 19th century, bringing the state one step closer to becoming the first in the US to pay African Americans for the harms of slavery. ...

The decision, which passed by a vote of 5-4 on Tuesday night, has sparked widespread debate about who should be compensated for the continuing impacts of slavery, and how the state should factor in systemic racism that remains pervasive in society.

This is all bogus. There are no continuing impacts of slavery. Racial preferences have been a net benefit to Blacks for the last 50 years.

If they were doing an honest analysis, they would measure the harms to Whites as well as Blacks. Maybe it would turn out that there were more harms to Whites?

Unscientific Opposition to Florida Law

SciAm reports: -
On Monday, it became illegal to talk about gender identity or sexual orientation in hundreds of classrooms throughout the state of Florida. This law is one of historic numbers of proposed laws and measures targeting trans youth in Texas, Arizona, Alabama, and more than one dozen other U.S. states. Tens of thousands of transgender children and teenagers currently live in states where lawmakers seek to exclude them from playing sports, eliminate mention of people like them in schools, or criminalize transgender-affirming medical care, and the introduction of these measures come despite growing social approval of transgender Americans.
Almost every sentence in this story is a lie. The law goes into effect July 1, not Monday. Those classrooms are Third Grade and younger. The law targets schools, not trans youth. No one is excluded from playing sports.

I am not sure there is growing social approval. I did not have much opinion about transgenders several years ago, but the more I learn, the more I disapprove of what they are doing.

In Idaho, where lawmakers debated a law making it a felony to provide trans-affirmative medical care, a trans teenager testified that the idea of going through puberty made her contemplate suicide.
So lawmakers are supposed to be held hostage by a mentally ill 13-year-old who threatens suicide? This is madness.

Being a scientific magazine, I would expect it to cite some scientific evidence to support its views. This is none. Pandering to children threatening suicide just leads to more suicides.

THe opposition to this Florida law is startling. The argument boil down to this: The LGBTQ lobby wants the schools to recruit LGBTQ students without the parents knowledge or approval. It is sick.

Here is Disney trying to LGBTQ propaganda to children. Keep your kids away from Disney products.

Update: Here is Disney's latest apology:

Disney said Friday it “regret[s]” a high school drill team performance at Walt Disney World this week ...

Disney’s hosting of the Indianettes comes as it moves to be more inclusive in its theme parks and rid them of racist depictions, including of Indigenous people. ...

The outrage over Disney’s hosting of the Indianettes comes as the company is dealing with a controversy over its response to Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Act, referred to by critics as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. Disney faced widespread outrage—including from its own employees—over its initial refusal to denounce the legislation, which has been critcized as discriminatory against the LGBTQ community, leading CEO Bob Chapek to ultimately issue an apology. The controversy has still continued, however, with employees walking out earlier this week in protest of the company’s handling of the issue.

Now that Disney has apologized for not opposing a law protecting kindergarteners from sexual abuse, it will have to do a lot of apologizing.

All this controversy brings attention to the arguments for an against transgenderism and other LGBTQ recruitment. It is remarkable how weak the arguments in favor are.

Update: Here is a suggestion:

The question for today is why Disney can’t act directly, rather than trying to overturn the law passed by the Florida Legislature? Disney has announced an official corporate policy in favor of sexual orientation and gender identity instruction for K-3 children. Millions of K-3-age children visit Disney World every year. Many of them are from Florida and thus, due to this new law, are at risk of being denied “classroom instruction related to sexual orientation and gender identity”. Why can’t Disney step in to fill the gap? ...

A separate idea: Because Americans don’t have to work anymore, every Disney World ride requires waiting in line for 1-3 hours, even on weekdays. K-3-targeted sexual orientation and gender identity instruction could be provided to those waiting in line, a literal captive audience.

That may be coming. Disney is already putting propaganda in its movies.

Update: Ben Shapiro explains the Disney rot. He has the proof that the Disney executives fully intend to sexually corrupt children.

Oscars So Black

The College Fix reports:
The Vassar College student newspaper deleted a news article because the reporter covering the story included too many quotes from white students. ...

“The majority of our quotations came from white students and therefore we reduced the positions of students of color to a singular, tokenized perspective. After this was brought to our attention, the paper decided to remove the article online in an attempt to prevent further harm among the communities we misrepresented.”

The story was about a Black man being disinvited as Commencement speaker because he enforce immigration law in the Obama administration.

Maybe Black students, who do not believe in hearing from Blacks favoring law enforcement, were not represented in the article. And correcting the article would make Blacks look bad.

Meanwhile, Blacks have also gotten their way by taking over the Oscars. They complained that the Oscars were too White, but they really meant that they were too Jewish. Now Blacks are all over the show. It even had one Black guy punching another on stage.

Update: The Oscars incident may have been just a publicity stunt for The Crown Act. Apparently Black women are wildly insecure about their hair, and we need new non-discrimination laws to protect them.

Zelensky is Destroying Ukraine

A Change.org petition nominates Ukraine President Zelensky for 2022 Nobel Peace prize and Time man of the year.

It is disturbing how many people idolize him. He is destroying Ukraine.

Update: As I understand it, Putin is demanding (1) Ukraine stay neutral, with a written commitment to not join NATO; (2) Russian takeover of Crimea be accepted; and (3) independence for Donbas in E. Ukraine.

I believe that NATO should never have been threatening Russia with radical expansion anyway. Very few people think that the USA should commit to a ground war to defend Ukraine's border. So agreeing to demand (1) should be easy.

Russian seizure of Crimea appears to be a done deal.

I don't have an opinion on whether demand (2) is reasonable. I also don't have an opinion about whether Putin would be satisfied with these concessions. Maybe Putin has grander and more evil plans.

I do not see how it can be worth fighting a war over these issues. Zelensky could probably get a cease-fire if he made some concessions. Instead he has persuaded foreign countries to join his war. He has done a good job of selling the war. But it is hard to see how he can win, and it appears to me that he is just prolonging the war and getting his citizens killed.

I could be wrong about this, but that is how it appears to me.

Nobel Peace Prize? There is no peace. Kissinger and Arafat got peace prizes, and Hitler got Man of the Year. So I guess it is possible.

Biden Repeats Nazi Lies Again

White House transcript from yesterday's press conference (at 14:00):
Q Yes. (Laughter.) It’s true. And there are widespread concerns in Europe that a figure like your predecessor, maybe even your predecessor himself, might get elected president again. So, are there any steps, anything you’re trying to do and NATO is trying to do here, these days, to prevent what you’re trying to do becoming undone two years from now? Thank you.

THE PRESIDENT: No, I — that’s not how I think of this. I’ve been dealing with foreign policy for longer than anybody that’s involved in this process right now. I have no concerns about the impact —

I made a commitment when I ran this time. I wasn’t going to run again, and I mean that sincerely. I had no intention of running for President again and — until I saw those folks coming out of the fields in Virginia carrying torches and carrying Nazi banners and literally singing the same vile rhyme that they used in Germany in the early ‘20s — or ‘30s, I should say. And then, when the gentleman you mentioned was asked what he thought — and a young woman was killed, a protester — and he asked — was asked what he thought, he said, “There are very good people on both sides.” And that’s when I decided I wasn’t going to be quiet any longer.

Biden keeps telling this false story. It would be more accurate to say that Biden is supporting Ukrainian Nazis.

Trump did not say Nazis were good people. This has been exposed so many times, that everyone must know that Biden is a liar by now. I don't even know what he means by "vile rhyme". There was no Nazi vile rhyme. A German rhyme would not rhyme in English.

And all of this has nothing to do with the question. Biden is senile, and cannot competently answer any question. We are less than a third of the way into his Presidency, and he has already lost one war and started another.

Covid Hawks Are Also Russia Hawks

New poll:
Of those who have received three or more doses of a Covid vaccine, 59 percent support a NATO no-fly zone in Ukraine. Of those who have refused the vaccine, support plummets to 18 percent.
Often these issues can be predicted by right-left politics. But not this so much.

There is both right and left wing opposition to the Ukraine war, and to covid vaccines. The better question is -- do you accept the New World Order or not?

It takes a certain mentality to believe these authorities who are always lying to you.

Here is someone who used to depend on NPR Radio:

But it wasn’t just that story. Overnight, the network’s entire orientation had changed. Every segment was about race, and when it wasn’t about race, it was about gender. The stories were no longer reports but morality plays, with predictable bad guys and good guys. Scepticism was banished. Divergent opinions were banished. The pronouncements of activists, the arguments of ideologically motivated academics, were accepted without question. The tone became smug, certain, self-righteous. To turn on the network was to be subjected to a program of ideological force-feeding. I was used to the idiocies of the academic Left — I had been dealing with them ever since I started graduate school — but now they were leaking out of my radio.

Nor was it only NPR. One by one, the outlets that I counted on for reliable reporting and intelligent opinion — that I, in some measure, identified with — fell in line. The New York Times, which was already in an advanced state of decay, surrendered completely. Ditto The New Yorker. The Atlantic was drifting in the same direction. Inroads appeared in The New York Review of Books. Satirists whom I admired for their alert sense of irony, their ability to recognise the absurdity at all points of the political spectrum  — Stephen Colbert, John Oliver — got the new religion, and started preaching sermons.

All of these outlets now have the same views on covid, masks, vaccines, Trump, George Floyd, transgender swimmers, and killing Russians. Spooky.

It is especially strange to hear all the woke stuff on NPR Radio. NPR is the closest thing to a White Supremacist mass media outlet we have. It is produced by Whites for Whites. There are hardly any non-whites who listen to NPR.

Judge is not a Biologist

From today's confirmation hearing:
During the second day of her Supreme Court confirmation hearings Tuesday, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson refused to define what a “woman” is, deferring instead to scientific experts.

When asked to define “woman” by Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn, she replied, “I can’t…I’m not a biologist.” Blackburn shot back, “The meaning of the word woman is so unclear and controversial that you can’t give me a definition?”

“Senator, in my work as a judge, what I do is I address disputes. If there’s a dispute about a definition, people make arguments and I look at the law and I decide,” Jackson added, reiterating the methodical judicial approach she has historically applied.

She probably thought that this was a safe answer, but I am afraid it is not. Soon, the liberals on the Court will say that being a woman is not defined by biology, but by a stated preference for that gender identity.

Biden Wants to Lead the New World Order

Wondering why Pres. Biden would bait Putin into invading Ukraine? He just gave an explanation:
I think — you know, my mother had an expression: “Out of everything terrible, something good will come if you look hard enough for it.”

I think this presents us with some significant opportunities to make some real changes. You know, we are at an inflection point, I believe, in the world economy — not just the world economy, in the world. It occurs every three or four generations.

As one of — as one of the top military people said to me in a secure meeting the other day, 60 — 60 million people died between 1900 and 1946. And since then, we’ve established a liberal world order, and that hadn’t happened in a long while. A lot of people dying, but nowhere near the chaos.

And now is a time when things are shifting. We’re going to — there’s going to be a new world order out there, and we’ve got to lead it. And we’ve got to unite the rest of the free world in doing it.

As Vox Day points out, this is a direct reference to the 1990 G. Bush New World Order speech:
We stand today at a unique and extraordinary moment. The crisis in the Persian Gulf, as grave as it is, also offers a rare opportunity to move toward an historic period of cooperation. Out of these troubled times, our fifth objective — a new world order — can emerge: a new era — freer from the threat of terror, stronger in the pursuit of justice, and more secure in the quest for peace. An era in which the nations of the world, East and West, North and South, can prosper and live in harmony.

A hundred generations have searched for this elusive path to peace, while a thousand wars raged across the span of human endeavor. Today that new world is struggling to be born, a world quite different from the one we’ve known. A world where the rule of law supplants the rule of the jungle. A world in which nations recognize the shared responsibility for freedom and justice. A world where the strong respect the rights of the weak. This is the vision that I shared with President Gorbachev in Helsinki. He and other leaders from Europe, the Gulf, and around the world understand that how we manage this crisis today could shape the future for generations to come.

Yes, that is what this war is all about. Vox Day calls it The Satanic World Order.

Update: Wikipedia has two pages on the NWO: New World Order (conspiracy theory) and New world order (politics). They need two articles because the chief proponents of the New World Order have openly advocated for it. A conspiracy is a secret plan, and it is not a conspiracy if it the plan is public. Parts of the plan are not public, so that is the conspiracy.

Man cannot be Man Of The Year

Newsweek reports:
Satire website The Babylon Bee had been suspended from Twitter, according to the CEO, Seth Dillon.

Dillon took to his personal Twitter account on Sunday evening to explain why the page had been suspended and his reaction to the news.

The page had been temporarily banned for a tweet mocking Dr. Rachel Levine, who identifies as transgender. Levine serves as an admiral in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.

I just received this notice that we’ve been locked out of our account for “hateful conduct.” pic.twitter.com/udMriKcDr6 — Seth Dillon (@SethDillon) March 20, 2022

Dillon posted an image of the message Twitter sent the page and captioned it: "I just received this notice that we've been locked out of our account for 'hateful conduct.'"

The offending tweet was:
The Babylon Bee's Man of the Year is Rachel Levine
His real name is Richard Leland Levine, and he fathered two kids under that name. He is Jewish, so he was circumsized as a baby. Wikipedia says he is transgender, but not whether he tried to change his sex.

Women's Health magazine has a useful glossary of 70 Sex Terms You Should Know If You Don't Already. However it does not attempt to define woman. Instead it uses terms like "someone with a vagina". Maybe it will have to change the name of the magazine to Health of People with Vaginas.

Mrs. Bill Gates: Divorce is a Healthy Choice

USA Today announces:
Melinda French Gates is one of USA TODAY’s Women of the Year, a recognition of women across the country who have made a significant impact.
So what did she do? She confirmed that she was the cause of the Bill Gates divorce.
I would say probably, though, for sure, my lowest moment in life was when I finally reached the decision that I knew I needed to leave my marriage. That wasn't something I ever thought would happen to me. It certainly wasn't what I thought on the day I got married, but I realized for myself, I needed to make a healthier choice, and that was just a very, very sad day.
Was she mistreated somehow? Nope. Another interview:
During the interview, Melinda was asked about the affair Bill had with a staffer 20 years ago, which a spokesperson for the Microsoft co-founder confirmed last May.

"I certainly believe in forgiveness, so I thought we had worked through some of that," said the author and women's advocate, 57.

"It wasn't one moment or one specific thing that happened. There just came a point in time where there was enough there that I realized it just wasn't healthy, and I couldn't trust what we had," she added.

She also attended the marriage of their daughter to an Egyptian equestrian.

It is hard to see what she could be complaining about. She seemed to have everything that a woman would want. I am not trying to second-guess her. I am just trying to understand human nature.

Arnold goes Full Nazi

Arnold Schwarzenegger has come out of political retirement, as there have been events so horrible that they must be denounced. Transcript:
I hope that you will hear what I have to say. And may I remind you that I speak with the same heartfelt concern as I spoke to the American people when there was an attempted insurrection on January sixth last year, when a wild crowd was storming the U.S. Capital, trying to overthrow our government.

You see, there are moments like this that are so wrong, and then we have to speak up. This is exactly the same with your government.

Got that? The Russia-Ukraine War is "exactly the same" as the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol election protest!

The J6 protest was a mostly peaceful demonstration of unarmed citizens demanding that the election outcome reflect votes properly cast. They believed that the election was being stolen.

Reasonable people can differ over whether the election was stolen. Everyone agrees that Biden won by taking advantage of questionable rule changes that had never been used before, and from votes that were impossible to verify. But whether or not you agree that this should be called a stolen election, protesting a dubious election procedures is an essential part of a free democracy.

And his denunciation of the Ukraine War is exactly the same!

He also explains how his father was a Nazi who hated the Russians. But Ukraine does not need to be de-nazified.

I thought that covid infected the world with a madness. Now the world has gone mad over this silly war. Congress had to listen to Ukraine president Zelensky compare the war to the Pearl Harbor and 9/11 hijacking attacks. Those sucked us into massive boondoggles. Zelensky appears to want World War III, and it is scary how many politicians are taking the bait.

I wonder how much of the hostility towards Russians is based on them being White Christians. Russian citizens who have nothing to do with the war are being canceled. If they were non-white, this would be considered racist. You were considered a bigot if you asked Moslems to disavow terrorism after 9/11/2001, and yet Russians outside Russia are being asked to disavow Putin.

Ghislaine Maxwell Juror Lied

The NY Times reports:
For one thing, sexual violence is extremely pervasive. According to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center, one in five American women will experience rape or attempted rape at some time in her life, to say nothing of other sorts of assault. One in four American men will experience some form of sexual violence, including rape, coercion or unwanted sexual contact.
I have gotten used to these exaggerated figures, but this stands out, because it implies that men have been victims more than women.

However, I chased down the sources, and they do not say that at all. The source says:

About one in four male victims of completed or attempted rape first experienced it between the ages of 11 and 17.
That may be bogus also, so don't take it too serously. I am just noting some of the ideological errors.

The paper takes statements about girls and boys, and converts them to being about women and men. It takes past tense statements, and converts them to future tense. It conflates rape, which has a legal definition, and attempted rape, which could be almost anything. And it converts "one in four male victims" to "One in four American men".

The relevants is to recent juror misconduct:

During jury selection for the high-profile sex crimes trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, a confidential questionnaire presented by the court asked potential jurors, “Have you or a friend or a family member ever been the victim of sexual harassment, sexual abuse or sexual assault?” Juror No. 50 checked the box for “no.” After the trial, Juror No. 50 revealed that, during deliberations, he told his fellow jurors that he had been sexually abused as a child and for years had kept this abuse a secret. The court must now decide whether Juror No. 50’s failure to tell the truth requires invalidating Ms. Maxwell’s convictions and granting her a new trial.
People have some funny beliefs about child sexual abuse. I am not sure why this guy's personal experience should have influenced the jury. Maxwell could have gotten an unfair trial.

SciAm pushes Leftist Immigration Propaganda

SciAm reports on a supposed bias in USA immigration:
The U.S. associates two statues with the cornerstones of its republic. The two figures are the Statue of Liberty, her torch lighting the way for immigrants, and Lady Justice, blindfolded to avoid bias from the eyes in the court.
The first immigration law was limited to free white persons of good character.
Using information from 2,687,101 applications ... overall, about 92 percent of people who applied were approved. ... about 86.43 percent for Black Muslim applicants, who had the lowest chances. ...

What is especially striking, Ryo says, is that federal law mandates uniformity in how applicants are treated in the naturalization process, regardless of demographic factors, such as race and religion. If uniformity were truly in effect, “we should not expect to see even small differences,” she says.

Wow, this is a very small difference to complain about.

People get rejected for having criminal backgrounds, or bad character. It is likely that the Black Muslim applicants have the worst character.

Why is Scientific American magazine trying to get more Black Muslims into the USA? There is no legal or scientific justification. The USA has many problems, but a lack of Black Muslims is not one of them. Those statues were not invitations to Black Muslims.

Other potential influences are structural, such as the fact that law enforcement disproportionately targets Black people, raising their odds of a criminal history that could feed into the “good moral character” determination, she says.
So it admits that Blacks are more likely to have criminal records. Police target Blacks more because Blacks commit more crimes.

Women Follow Social Consensus

Here is an amusing rant:
Men care less about consensus, but generally like to cooperate with authority. However, they also want to feel if they have concerns or questions, they can voice these to the authority and have them addressed in a straightforward and frank manner. If a leader has a history of making good decisions that benefited the people, and a man voices a concern, and the leader’s answer is simply “you’re just going to have to trust me on this,” that will be enough, if it is an answer that is used sparingly. If a leader has a history of bad decisions, and becomes erratic and angry when questioned, he is likely to be removed as the leader by the men of the group.

But we live in a society that is totally dominated by women. Virtually all men defer to women, due to the feminist project, which has given women complete control over sex and relationships, which are of primary concern to men. Furthermore, as women are the ultimate arbitrators of society, men have begun to take on feminine character traits, and act like women. This is not different than men in Rome wanting to be like Julius Caesar or Hercules.

Women are totally obsessed with social consensus. They not only believe social consensus, but they enforce it against those who question it.

In modern America, you have dual social consensuses in the form of left and right, but these are increasingly merging. With the Ukraine situation, Fox News is even more extreme than CNN. So you’re not going to find women who disagree with this consensus.

The nature of women is a hard reality of nature you just have to deal with.

I’ve said many times – if you find some woman who is “red pilled” and repeating right-wing talking points, you’ve found an insane woman. It is the basic and fundamental biology of women to agree with the consensus, so if a woman doesn’t do that, she has something seriously wrong with her.

This also speaks to the issue of trying to convince women of things, or really having serious conversations with them about anything.

Ultimately: it is pointless to rage against the masses and wish they would “wake up.” They’re not going to. We are totally locked into this thing, until something gives and removes women from power. Until that point, the media is going to be able to broadcast a social consensus, and it will be followed by the large mass of society.

Getting angry about it is like getting angry at the rain.

No, I do not agree with this. But Google and others have tried to kick the site off the internet, and I don't agree with that also. The site has many amusing insights. The above is funny because there is a grain of truth to it.

Child Argues for School Queer Brainwashing

A NY Times op-ed by a disturbed 17-year-old boy:
On Tuesday, the Florida Senate approved the Parental Rights in Education bill, also known as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. The bill seeks to ban public schools in the state from teaching about sexual orientation or gender identity from kindergarten through the third grade, or through the twelfth grade in a manner deemed “age-inappropriate” by parents. Had the proposed law been in effect last year, my teacher could have put herself in jeopardy by being there for me.

From an early age I knew I was different. I wasn’t interested in the things other boys my age did, and I didn’t really feel comfortable in the clothes my parents bought me. The struggle for acceptance was not just internal, it also felt like my classmates didn’t know what to make of me. By fourth grade I was convinced that I was broken. ...

“Are you L.G.B.T.Q.?” She explained what each letter meant and showed me pictures of RuPaul on her phone. ...

I have come to realize that those who have been so openly hateful toward me often knew little about the queer community — they thought being L.G.B.T.Q. was a conscious choice.

This is really sick. He thinks he is gay because his clothes were uncomfortable in fourth grade, and he wants schools to secretly give such advice to kids without telling parents.

He has also been brainwashed into believing that he cannot make a conscious choice in the matter.

Republican lawmakers have been echoing the idea that parents know what is best for their kids, not the schools. In some cases that may be true. But parents aren’t trained professionals; unlike schools, they aren’t made to follow a set of standards.
Those trained professionals have lied to him, and convinced him that it is impossible for him to lead a normal life.

It is false, cruel, and destructive to tell a child that his future lifestyle is forced upon him by genes, potty training, 4th-grade clothes comfort, or whatever those training professionals are teaching.

Maybe Republicans should pass laws requiring the schools to tell the truth about sex. But there is not much chance of that. The schools are going to promote LGBTQ activities. They will not explain that RuPaul is a kook.

Ben Shapiro explains why this is all about Leftist Democrat brainwashing of kids, without parents finding out.

Biggest 20th Century Strategic Mistake

The NY Post reports:
People should be “outraged” at the New York Times for only just confirming the authenticity of Hunter Biden’s laptop, Sen. Ron Johnson said Sunday, as he demanded apologies from the 51 former US intelligence experts who cast doubt on The Post’s reporting on the device.

“I am just amazed that the New York Times just now came to the conclusion that the Hunter Biden laptop was genuine,” Johnson, of Wisconsin, told host John Catsimatidis on WABC 770 AM’s “The Cats Roundtable.”

“Where have they been? That was pretty obvious within a week or two of the New York Post’s stories.” ...

Johnson called on the Gray Lady to apologize, as well as the 51 intelligence experts who cast doubt on the laptop as Russian disinformation in a letter released just days after The Post’s bombshell exclusives.

So the NY Times has a track record of publishing anti-Russian propaganda. Now it has its own article on war propaganda:
Ukraine is waging an information campaign of its own, aiming to discredit Russia, exaggerate its own military successes and minimize its losses. It has also circulated false reports of heroism, including the martyrdom of soldiers defending an island in the Black Sea and the exploits of an ace fighter pilot in the skies over Kyiv.

By most accounts, Ukraine has so far been winning the information war, led by a powerful social media operation that flooded the internet with its own jumble of anecdotes and myths, bolstering morale among Ukrainians and uniting the Western world behind its cause. The most central figure in their campaign has been President Volodymyr Zelensky himself, whose video messages to Ukrainians and the world have combined bravery with the stage presence of the television performer he once was.

It goes on to blame Tucker Carlson for reporting that the USA was funding Ukraine bio-weapons research, but does not say that it was false.

To get away from any possible Putin propaganda, I went back to this 1998 video on Opposition to NATO Expansion. A bunch of right and left wing groups found that they agree on one thing. I was struck by the arguments, at 7:10 and 20:50, that NATO expanding 1998 was as big a strategic mistake as any in the 20th century.

They were right. This was the main cause of the Ukraine war.

Why was it done? There appear to be two main reasons. (1) State Dept. cold warriors wanted to continue the Cold War; and (2) defense contractors wanted to sell military equipment to NATO allies.

Hysterical Warmongers on the Left

The Left used to be reliably anti-war, but no more.

Here is a MoveOn spam letter:

Dear MoveOn member,

Fox News was the #1 most-watched network last week, as Russian President Vladimir Putin attacked Ukraine.1

And last week, Tucker Carlson, Fox's "ratings king," told his 4.6 million viewers that it's "not un-American" to support Putin, that the Russian invasion is just a "border dispute," and that "Ukraine is not a democracy" but a "puppet" of the West.2,3

Tucker Carlson is dangerous—truly dangerous. Russia's state propaganda TV networks have been running clips of Tucker Carlson defending Putin and trashing Ukraine to sell Putin's war.4 And The Washington Post reported last week that new polling shows Republicans view Putin more favorably than they do President Joe Biden.5

Carlson has become the tip of the spear of the powerful right-wing media machine, the de facto leader of the white nationalist, authoritarian, right-wing media echo chamber, and we need to fight back.

MoveOn's in-house Creative Lab produces powerful videos and other viral content that directly counters the onslaught of right-wing talking points, authoritarianism, and lies. Since its launch, the Creative Lab has produced thousands of hard-hitting, fact-based videos that have been viewed hundreds of millions of times.

Democracy is at an inflection point, and we cannot let white supremacist, authoritarians like Carlson shape public opinion.

Fox News has been mostly pro-war, but MoveOn complains about the one guy who does not want to escalate the war!

It used to be that right-wingers would complain that leftists were un-American for not supporting a war. Now it is the Left complaining that a right-winger is un-American for not wanting to join the war in Ukraine.

There are still plenty of warmongers in the Republican Party. The sides have not completely flipped. But the biggest Republican leader in Donald Trump, and he has been against war, while Biden has provoked war, and MoveOn uses a pro-war pitch to raise money.

It is bizarre to call Carlson "the de facto leader of the white nationalist, authoritarian, right-wing media echo chamber". He is not echoing what most Republican politicians are saying. He is very critical of Lindsey Graham and others. He is one of the most anti-authoritarians on cable TV.

So what is this pitch really saying? It ends with "Democracy is at an inflection point". Nowadays, when the Left uses this language, it is nearly always about getting non-whites to outvote whites. What else? Why else would it keep calling Carlson white nationalist or white supremacist, when the issue is support for the Ukraine war?

Donate to MoveOn if you want to exterminate Whites.

Flyers Describe Jewish Influence

A California newspaper reports:
Marin residents awoke to discover antisemitic flyers on their lawns, driveways and streets last week. Now, local law enforcement is struggling to determine whether any crimes have been committed. ...

Reporter’s Note: After much debate, the Bohemian deliberately omitted the names of the antisemitic group and its leader. It is my belief that when the media identifies them, it helps fuel their mission by providing the publicity they desperately desire. As a Jewish person, I am opposed to leading lost souls to the doorsteps of hate.

What is the point of this? The flyers just listed some prominent Jews in the Biden administration. If the police cannot find any laws being broken, then what is the problem?

The flyer was apparently inspired by the Goyim Defense League, a small group with a video channel, Goyimtv.tv.

I never heard of them. It appears that they do not advocate anything violent or illegal. They just put out info, some of which could be described as conspiracy theories.

Disney Wants to Molest your Children

Florida is passing CS/CS/HB 1557: Parental Rights in Education:
Parental Rights in Education; Requires district school boards to adopt procedures that comport with certain provisions of law for notifying student's parent of specified information; requires such procedures to reinforce fundamental right of parents to make decisions regarding upbringing & control of their children; prohibits school district from adopting procedures or student support forms that prohibit school district personnel from notifying parent about specified information or that encourage student to withhold from parent such information; prohibits school district personnel from discouraging or prohibiting parental notification & involvement in critical decisions affecting student's mental, emotional, or physical well-being; prohibits classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in certain grade levels; requires school districts to notify parents of healthcare services; authorizes parent to bring action against school district to obtain declaratory judgment; provides for additional award of injunctive relief, damages, & reasonable attorney fees & court costs to certain parents.
Sounds innocuous. CNN says people are most offended by this:
The bill states that "classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards."
The Disney corporation, and others, are very much against this. That is, it wants perverted sexual propoganda taught to third-graders. Or to other students in inappropriate manner. It announced:
Starting immediately, we are increasing our support for advocacy groups to combat similar legislation in other states. We are hard at work creating a new framework for our political giving that will ensure our advocacy better reflects our values. And today, we are pausing all political donations in the state of Florida pending this review.
So if you pay to watch Disney movies, or attend Disneyland, you are supporting an LGTQ+ agenda to use the public school to brainwash third-graders over their parents objections.

It is a terrible slur to say that homosexuals want to molest kids. The vast majority do not. I am only talking about what Disney and others are openly advocating. Namely, they want to teach third-graders about eccentric sexual preferences.

MSN News:

The “Don’t Say Gay” bill has garnered a lot of media attention and has dominated conversations about LGBTQ rights lately. ...

Caraballo is currently a clinical instructor at Harvard Law School’s Cyberlaw Clinic. Before working there, she was a staff attorney at the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund and a staff attorney at the LGBTQ Law Project at New York Legal Assistance Group. ...

Caraballo said once the bill goes into effect, a major rollback of LGBTQ-friendly policies at schools is likely.

In other words, the LGBT forces have taken over Hollywood, Disney, and the schools, and they don't want to lose any of the gains they have made.

They also hate Russia for not having Pride parades. I have been trying to figure out why Biden so actively encouraged war in Ukraine, and I wonder how much influence the LGBT lobby has had.

Update: The other big LGBTQ political issue is whether trying to change a child's sex should be investigated as child abuse. If someone tried to change your sex as a child, would you consider it abuse? I do think that the psychologists and physicians who are in on this racket should be stopped somehow.

Feminism is a mental illness

The NY Post reports:
South Korea has elected a new president, Yoon Suk-yeol, after a nail-biter of a vote ...

Yoon, the conservative opposition choice, pledged to do away with a government agency devoted to women’s equality ...

The mudslinging has played out in a country deeply concerned with rising home prices and youth unemployment, with both candidates accused of misogyny by women’s groups.

The NY Times reports:

“Out with man haters!” they shouted. “Feminism is a mental illness!”

On the streets, such rallies would be easy to dismiss as the extreme rhetoric of a fringe group. But the anti-feminist sentiments are being amplified online, finding a vast audience that is increasingly imposing its agenda on South Korean society and politics.

These male activists have targeted anything that smacks of feminism, forcing a university to cancel a lecture by a woman they accused of spreading misandry. ...

“We don’t hate women, and we don’t oppose elevating their rights,” said Bae In-kyu, 31, the head of Man on Solidarity, one of the country’s most active anti-feminist groups. “But feminists are a social evil.” . .

Test Scores are Useful to Colleges

Donald Wittman writes:
In November 2021, the Board of Regents of the University of California voted to permanently abolish using SAT and ACT scores as factors in determining admission to the university. The stated reasons are: (1) standardized tests are biased against students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds (essentially meaning low-income households where the parents do not have college degrees) and (2) the SAT does not substantially improve the university’s ability to predict college grades beyond just using the student’s high school grade point average.

These stated reasons are factually wrong. Furthermore, the Board of Regents displayed a complete misunderstanding of how students were actually admitted before the ban on using the SAT took place.

With regard to the relative importance of the SAT vis-à-vis grades, here are the data published in 2020 by the University of California Office of Institutional Research. In 2015 (the last year the study covers), grades alone explain 13 percent of the variance in first-year GPA, SAT scores alone explain 22 percent of the variance in first-year GPA and when added together, grades and SAT explain 26 percent of the variability in first-year GPA. So, adding SAT scores to grades doubles the predictability of college performance. This is a major improvement.

Next, I turn to the issue of bias. We first need to know what it means for the SAT to be biased against students who are low income and/or have attended high schools that are predominantly filled with low-income students. The SAT is biased against socioeconomically disadvantaged students if the SAT underpredicts their performance at the university. The standard measure of performance is first-year GPA. In over 50 years of testing and in hundreds of peer-reviewed scientific articles, the results are clear—the SAT is biased in favor of socioeconomically disadvantaged students and biased against socioeconomically advantaged students. In particular, if two students have identical SAT scores and grades or just SAT scores alone, the socioeconomically disadvantaged student will have lower university grades than the socioeconomically advantaged student will have. Furthermore, the student from a lower socioeconomic background will have a lower college grade than predicted by SAT scores and grades, while a student from a socioeconomically advantaged background will have higher college grades than predicted. ...

Donald Wittman is distinguished professor of economics, emeritus, at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

So why are the scores being eliminated? It appears to be part of a plan to dumb down the colleges.

Congress Bans Lynchings

The NY Times reports:
WASHINGTON — The Senate unanimously approved a bill that would make lynching a federal hate crime, explicitly criminalizing a heinous act that has become a symbol of the nation’s history of racial violence. ...

Failure to pass such a measure before this year had become a glaring example of the nation’s inadequate response to a crime that has long terrorized Black Americans. The N.A.A.C.P. estimated, based on its records, that Black victims accounted for 72 percent of 4,743 lynchings that occurred between 1882 and 1968.

I am not sure what this law will do. Murder was already a crime.

I just have some questions. If the last lynching was in 1968, why do we need a law now?

Without additional info, that 72% figure is meaningless. Maybe Blacks committed 72% of the offenses that resulted in lynchings.

Race is a Social Construct, Explained

I mentioned that Black Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. was equating Black rights with lies about Black criminals on a NY Times video. Now has has aa nonsensical NY Times op-ed about defining race:
The other day, while teaching a lecture class, one of us mentioned in passing that the average African American, according to a 2014 paper, is about 24 percent European and less than 1 percent Native American. A student responded that these percentages were impossible to measure, since “race is a social construction.”

Given our country’s history of scientific racism — and all of the horrible crimes and abuses that African Americans have been subjected to in the name of science — the fact that race is a social invention and not a biological reality cannot be repeated too much. However, while race is socially constructed, genetic mutations — biological records of ancestry — are not, and the distinction is a crucial one.

To be fair, we really can’t blame this student for being confused. To varying degrees, we have all inherited a muddled understanding of race, ancestry and phenotype from the Enlightenment

So he complains about race all the time, says race does not exist, and uses DNA to trace racial ancestry.

No Dissent Allowed on Ukraine War

Breitbart reports:
The Slovakian National Crime Agency (NAKA) has warned residents could face 25 years in prison if caught promoting “war propaganda” on social media regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The National Crime Agency (NAKA) reminded Slovakians that the country was in an emergency situation due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent surge of refugees fleeing the conflict.

“Anyone who, in a crisis situation… incites war, promotes war or otherwise promotes war propaganda, is punishable by imprisonment for 10 to 25 years or by a prison sentence of life imprisonment,” the police said, according to Slovakian broadcaster RTVS.

Okay, that is an obscure Eastern European country that was Communist until 30 years ago. Russia is threatening to punish dissenters also. But look at the craziness in the USA.

The NY Post reports:

Former Vice President Mike Pence urged fellow Republicans to condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine, saying “there is no room in this party for apologists for Putin,” during a speech on Friday night.

Speaking at a fundraiser of the GOP’s top donors in New Orleans, Pence was critical of those in his party who have not condemned Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, which has caused the deaths of thousands of civilians and displaced at least 1.2 million people.

Where would Russian tanks be today if NATO had not expanded the borders of freedom? There is no room in this party for apologists for Putin,” Pence said, according to excerpts from the closed speech obtained by The Associated Press. “There is only room for champions of freedom.”

If NATO were not trying to expand, then we would not have war today. Ukraine would be an independent and neutral country. Russian tanks would be back in Russia.

I am not sure there is room in the party for Pence, as he seems to have alienated all his supporters.

The NY Post also has this report from Ukraine:

Oleksandra Matviichuk, 38, is a human rights lawyer who lives in Kyiv with her husband and two cats. She is head of the Center for Civil Liberties and has been documenting war crimes since Russia invaded Crimea in 2014, work that has increased since Vladimir Putin’s troops entered the country on Feb. 24.
Okay, the cat ladies say that there have been some human rights violations. I do not doubt it.

How New Jersey Forces Homosexual Views on Kids

To be a foster or adoptive parent in New Jersey, you apparently have to repudiate your religious beliefs about homosexuality. And you and the kids may have to attend psychotherapy to make sure you have properly repented.

From a recent court decision:

But three weeks after informing the Lasches that they might be able to adopt the children, Higgins told the Lasches that a couple in Illinois was interested in adopting all five siblings. The Lasches inquired about the prospective adoptive family, and both Higgins and her supervisor, Epperly, stated that they did not know the answers to those questions. Later, in discussing the putative adoption with the foster parents for the other siblings, the Lasches learned that the Illinois couple was "two wealthy gay men with lots of family around to support them and the adoption."

A few days later, Higgins came to the Lasches' home and questioned Foster Child 1 about whether she would change her religious beliefs about homosexual conduct — which she held before meeting the Lasches — if she were placed with another family. About four months later, for reasons that remain confidential, the Lasches and DCPP agreed that Foster Child 2 should be removed from the Lasches' home. ...

The hearing on June 4, 2018, was eventful. The Illinois couple no longer had an interest in adopting any of the five siblings. And the judge indicated that the children needed psychiatric evaluations moving forward.

After that hearing, inquiries about the Lasches' religious beliefs intensified. Later that month, Foster Child 1 came home from a therapy session visibly upset because the therapist repeatedly brought up religion and told her not to feel pressured to follow the Lasches' religious beliefs. When Jennifer Lasche confronted the therapist, the therapist relayed that she and Higgins had previously discussed the Lasches' "ideas about same-sex couples."

As far as I can see, the only actual homosexuals involved were the Illinois couple that dropped out.

Germany Won World War II

Orthodox Jewish law professor Alan Dershowitz rants about the Ukrainian WWII Nazi collaborators, and adds:
The vast vast vast majority of Germans got away with mass mass murder ...

Germany won the war. They accomplished Hitler's goal. Posthumously, to be sure.

Hitler said kill the Jews and we will be richer and more powerful. And they killed the Jews and were richer and more powerful.

Look, the world has to balance.

There were people who took a different view. Morgenthau, the secretary of the Treasury. He said at the end of the Second World War that Germany, for the next 50 years, ought to be relegated to being an agrarian country. ... People should have to live and eat on their own farms. ... German people ... should suffer for 50 years. ...

Germany quickly became the most wealthy and most powerful country in Europe.

So he does not favor punishing Ukraine today for what happened in the 1940s, as opposing Russia is the greater good.

I have never heard this WWII opinion expressed before.

Why Ukraine must be Defended

CBS News reports:
Zi Faámelu was born and raised in Crimea, an area of Ukraine that was invaded and taken over by Russia in 2014. Now the 31-year-old lives in Kyiv, the capital city that has been under Russian siege for nearly a week. She is running out of food and hasn't left her house for days as gunfire erupts outside.

And she says she can't leave.

Faámelu, who is transgender, said that transphobia is pervasive in the city and neighboring countries, and fears that if she leaves, the tension of the ongoing conflict will make her more susceptible to violence. Faámelu was previously a popular contestant on the Ukrainian singing competition show "Star Factory."

It is alarming how many people want war.

Some say Putin is evil, criminal, or a madman. Maybe so, I don't know. Whether he is or not, this war is unnecessary.

The Declining State of the Union

Here is the list of Trump White House accomplishments, as archived here on Jan. 20, 2021.

It is an impressive list. Now that Biden has been President for a year, and he has failures on many fronts, we need a list of the bad things Trump did not do.

Biden has lost one war, and started another. We have high inflation, and product shortages. We are being overrun by foreigners.

All Biden had to do, in the last year, was to declare that Ukraine was not going to be admitted to NATO. Instead, he persisted in trying to get Ukraine into NATO, and kept making statements that Ukraine could join. This looks as if he is trying to start World War III.

Congress Tries to Ban Hair Discrimination

You probably think Congress is preoccupied with concerns about the Ukraine war. Nope.

The Hill reports:

The House fell short of passing legislation on Monday that would prohibit discrimination against people with hair styles associated with a particular race or national origin.

Democrats set a vote on the bill, titled the Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair, or CROWN, Act under a fast-track process used for noncontroversial bills that required a two-thirds supermajority for passage. While the bill clinched a simple majority, 235-188, it did not meet the two-thirds threshold due to GOP opposition.

It's possible that House Democrats will bring up the bill for a vote again later, but under a process where they only need a simple majority to send it to the Senate.

Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-N.J.), the bill's author, argued it's essential to formally ban hair discrimination because African Americans are often penalized under workplace and school dress code policies for having natural hairstyles such as afros, braids and cornrows.

"Far too often, Black people, especially Black women and girls, are derided or deemed unprofessional simply because their hair does not conform to white beauty standards," Watson Coleman said on the House floor.

"Our natural hair is as innate a quality of Black people as the presence of melanin in our skin. Discriminating against our hair is no different is no different than discriminating against the color of our skin," she said.

Apparently a lot of Black women are neurotic about their hair. Not sure what that is all about.

Nobody cares about the melanin in their skin, so the analogy is silly.

First we have to get that Black hair on the Supreme Court:

As President Joe Biden prepares to make good on his promise to nominate the first Black woman to the Supreme Court, more than a dozen black female lawmakers in the House of Representatives on Thursday called on him to select a nominee committed to advancing civil rights. ...

"The appointment of a Black woman justice with an established record of working to advance racial justice and eradicating entrenched white supremacy is of the utmost importance in reviving the Supreme Court's credibility," more than a dozen members of the Congressional Black Caucus said.

I thought her job would be to follow the law and decide case. No, it will be to eradicate entrenched White supremacy, whatever that is.

The Russia haters have trying to convince everyone to change pronunciation of the Ukraine capital:

Kiev or Kyiv?

As Russian forces menace the Ukrainian capital and thousands flee, the very least onlookers around the world can do is learn how to say the name of the city under siege.

The short answer is simple: Ukrainians call their capital “Kyiv” (kee-yiv), the spelling, a transliteration of the Ukrainian Київ. The Russian version is “Kiev” (kee-yev).

When I hear gripes like there, I assume that they don't have any real problems to complain about.

Update: The House vote was 220-188 for the Bad Hair Bill. It passed the Senate Judiciary Committee on Sept. 30, 2021 by a vote of 23 to 15.

It is hard to take any Black complaints seriously, as long as they push silly laws like this.

Ketanji Brown Jackson may be the wrong person to eradicate White supremacy, since she is married to a White man. Jackson is the name of her surgeon husband. But maybe she can help interpret the legal effect of the Bad Hair Bill! She probably artificially straightens her hair.

More bad race-baiting laws are coming. The Wash. Post reports:

More than three decades after it was first introduced, a House bill that would create a commission to study reparations for Black Americans has the votes to pass, its key champions say.

That broad support, they contend, shows that the idea of reparations has gone from the fringes to the mainstream of American politics.
