If they had strong evidence of a crime, they would have followed due process, released all the evidence, had public hearings, and allowed Trump's side to be represented. They did not.
Liz Cheney admits that her main purpose is to derail Trump's 2024 campaign:
"No man who would behave that way at that moment in time can ever serve in any position of authority in our nation again. He is unfit for any office."And her nightmare of Trump staying in office might have happened, if the DoJ determined the election to have been stolen:
"We do not know what would have happened if the leadership of the Department of Justice declared, as Donald Trump requested, that the election was “corrupt,” ..."The House has released Trump's tax returns, in another desperate attempt to attack Trump. If they had found irregulartities, they would be making an issue out of it.

The fact that the Committee referred four items to the DOJ for review and investigation seems relevant.
Yes, they told the DoJ about things the DoJ has already been investigating for two years, and found nothing worth charging.
