Netflix Adolescence is Boring

If you are watching Netflix Adolescence and wondering why it is so boring, it is deliberate. Nothing ever happens. There are no surprises or plot twists.

The story is that a 13-year-old boy was bullied until he killed his tormentor. It was video recorded, so there is no question what happened.

The high point is where the child psychologist also bullies him to provoke a reaction out of him. She is as creepy and manipulative as his bully. She keeps talking about men and women, as if he would have adult opinions, even though she is talking to a young boy.

The show seems to be trying to show that an adolescent boy is a dangerous time bomb under today's pressures. But it is not based on any real-life case, and is not very convincing.

The main novelty is that each episode was filmed in a single shot. The actors had to be well-prepared.

I'd have nervous breakdown too if I had a female psychologist. Manipulative women are great at pushing buttons, not so much dealing with the consequences.

This female psychologist was hired by the defense lawyer! She was not helping him at all.
