The gender gap continues to widen, but contrary to what is often assumed, young men continue to vote roughly in line with the overall population, while young women have swung very sharply left… young women’s AfD vote is significantly lower than average (14 vs 21), and leftwing vote far higher (34 vs 9). The overall story is of young Germans rejecting the established centre-right and centre-left, but while young men are shifting to both populist flanks, young women are shifting overwhelmingly to the populist left.This is part of female nature. Women are just more likely to go along with groupthink. Men are more likely to think for themselves.
The NY Times has an article on “In an Age of Right-Wing Populism, Why Are Denmark’s Liberals Winning?”. The prime minister is a women, and considered a leftist, but she is against immigration by Moslems and others much different from Danes. That is why she is winning.
