Pushing for a George Floyd Pardon

The Daily Wire has taken up the cause of exonerating the cops who were convicted for the death fo George FLoyd, with videos from Ben Shapiro and Matt Walsh.

George Floyd was a case of mass hysteria. He was a low-life criminal and drug addict who died of a drug overdose while resisting arrest. The cops called an ambulance and tried to accommodate his demands. They followed accepted procedures. The ambulance was late and he died under police restraint.

After a video was released, the whole world went nuts with how this proved systemic racism and the need for black lives matter. Many cities had race riots. Most USA big corporations stopped hiring White folks. Joe Biden was elected President, as the choice of Black leaders.

All of this was completely crazy. There was no proof that the cops harmed Floyd, and no evidence at all of any racial motive. Even if the cops had a deficient medical awareness, or whatever they were accused of, that would do nothing to justify all the racial retaliation that took place.

The most damning part of the case against the cops was the video showing Derek Chauvin with what appeared to be his knee on the back of Floyd's neck, and a passerby yelling that he was killing Floyd. At trial, the prosecution expert testified that Floyd was indeed dying at that time. The implication was that Floyd might have lived if Chauvin listened to the bystander, and backed off.

But no one testified to that, and it seems unlikely. The autopsy showed that Floyd had a lethal dose of illegal drugs. He complained that he could not breathe, but he was complaining of that before the cops even touched him. They had already called the ambulance because he was in severe medical distress.

If the cops wanted to kill Floyd, they would not have called the ambulance, and would not have done it in front of spectators with video cameras. At worst, the cops made a medical misjudgment, but it is not clear that they could have done anything to keep Floyd alive.

A pardon would not solve much, as the cops were convicted on state and federal changes. That alone should convince you that they were railroaded, as it is extremely rare, and arguably unconstitutional, to be charged in state and federal court for the same offense.

Imprisoning these cops is about on the level of buring the Salem witches. It is just madness.
