The Utah figure skating judging scandal is still in the news. I don't know why. All the figure skating judging is crooked, and everybody knows it. The Canadians were sore losers, and should have accepted the silver medal. There were worse Olympic inequities. The short track speed skating had several very strange calls. There was an Australian who was ranked 35th in the world who managed to win a gold medal as a result of some weird collisions and an Australian judge's call. The women's figure skating was nearly a huge scandal because Sarah Hughes had the best performance by far, but only won the gold medal by a fluke. The scoring is very strange, and she happened to win on a tie-breaker rule.
