Leftists are Oversocialized and Feel Inferior

I posted some theories about right-left political division, so I am adding some comments from the Unabomber Manifesto, as published in the NY Times and Wash. Post.

Bing summarizes:

According to the manifesto, Kaczynski claimed that modern leftists suffer from “feelings of inferiority” and “oversocialization” that make them resentful of society and seek to change it123. He argued that leftists feel inferior because they cannot achieve their goals or satisfy their needs in the industrial system, and they are oversocialized because they internalize too many norms and rules that restrict their freedom1. He also criticized leftists for being intolerant of any hierarchy or inequality, and for being hypocritical and self-righteous.
He was a brilliant and original thinker. His essay was published in 1995.

To him, Leftism is not so much a political view but a pyschological personality type. He has also written an updated version of his manifesto.
