Avoiding McDonalds Restaurants

McDonalds does a lot of things really well, but some policies seem designed to alienate customers. You cannot get a clerk to tell you the difference between a Big Mac and a Quarter Pounder. It is difficult to get a burger without mustard and ketchup. And the ice cream machines are usually broken.

The company makes lots of money, so I can only assume that it has some business interest in doing things this way. My guess is that they are trying to train their customers to like mustard and ketchup, so people stop making special orders.

The ice cream baffled me, and here is a video trying to explain it: The REAL Reason McDonalds Ice Cream Machines Are Always Broken. I don't know if this is right or not, but I go elsewhere for ice cream.
