The Lawfare against Trump Backfired

A NY Times law professor op-ed admits:
“our search for political salvation primarily through the law has backfired. To oppose Mr. Trump in his second term, liberals must learn the lesson of this defeat, which is that there is no alternative to persuading our fellow citizens of our beliefs.”
Really? Is that what those Trump prosecutions were all about?

The coalistion of Leftists and Deep State warmongers could not convince their fellow citizens of their beliefs, so their best alternative was to jail Trump?

This was sold to the public by saying that Trump was Hitler, so Hitler-like tactics must be used to destroy him.

Now that the election is over, Trump is being exonerated on all counts.

In fairness, he is not being exonerated but rather, the government is abandoning the prosecution. Perhaps, if and when, Trump's term in office ends then the prosecutions will be brought forward again.

In fairness, the only reason Trump was ever prosecuted was because the democrat party didn't want him to be president, or to run for office again. They even said so. Numerous times. They even implied they would stop prosecution if he dropped out. Even now they are still playing around with argumentum ad hitlerum and/or some assorted flavor of 'FACIST!' without actually knowing what the word means in context. I do so enjoy leftists who didn't pass basic civics or history in high school flail about for insults they don't bother to even understand.

The moronic irony runs deep in the progressive left.
