Lincoln on American Universal Principles

The Russian-Jewish-American Libertarian open-borders law professor Ilya Somin celebrates Juneteenth by saying that Pres. Lincoln best described how America was based on liberal universal values.

Snopes tells us what Lincoln really said:

During his famous debates with Sen. Stephen Douglas, Lincoln explained to the crowd: “I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races … I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races from living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be a position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race.”

Some say that Lincoln was part Black:

But if Lincoln was Black, he could be one of several “white” U.S. presidents who may have had multiracial roots. Historians like Rogers have argued that Andrew Jackson, Thomas Jefferson, Warren G. Harding, Dwight Eisenhower, and Calvin Coolidge could have been Black.

USA Today reports:

"Kamala Harris will not be the first person of color to serve as vice president of the United States. In 1928, Charles Curtis — a Native American lawmaker and member of the Kaw Nation — was elected as President Herbert Hoover's vice president. He is the highest-ranking enrolled Native American to ever serve in the federal government."

Some say that USA was founded on all men being created equal, and other say it was founded on White supremacy.
