Christianity’s rise is [not] correlated with moral improvement in the world. ...This is all nonsense.Christianity’s rise is correlated with the destruction of ancient knowledge and the loss of the beginnings of science, with institutional slavery and genocide, with the subjugation of women, with the spread of diseases and the denial of healthcare to millions. It’s the rise of the deistic and atheistic Enlightenment that’s unequivocally correlated with moral improvement in the world.
Christianity invented universities and science. Christianity abolished slavery. Women are treated better in Christian countries than anywhere else.
I cannot think of any moral improvement attributable to atheists. If you read modern atheist moral philosophy, it is concerned with things like animal rights. I do not know how he can blame Christianity for the spread of diseases. Christians were not the ones spreading HIV/AIDS.
