The Democrate Party has been becoming, more and more, the anti-White party. See the latest platform for all the identity politics. They go for the votes of anyone other than straight White males.
Given that white males have enjoyed preferential status throughout history, it is possible that current proposals are efforts to level the playing field. I acknowledge it's a complex problem but I believe it is reasonable to approach the platform in this spirit.

You say "preferential status throughout history", but there is hardly anyone alive who can remember white males getting preferential status.
So yes, you can view the Democrat Party as seeking revenge for some perceived grievances or inequities from centuries ago.
