Billionaire Cat-lady went Bankrupt

Wildenstein received $2.5 billion in her divorce settlement (although this amount has been rumored to be as high as $3.8 billion[29]) and $100 million each year for the following 13 years.

I do not understand how anyone could squander that much money. She went broke after the $100M payments stopped.
