Mark Porter, the San Jose man who was charged Friday with kidnapping and child abduction, is steadfast that he is innocent and said he had permission to pick up the 8-year-old girl he considers a stepdaughter.It sounds as if they are charging him in order to justify bothering the whole city with an Amber Alert.
I think that the public is going to ignore these Amber Alerts when they figure that they are nearly always false alarms.
