“The Chinese race is a big family and feelings of love for the motherland, passion for the homeland, are infused in the blood of every single person with Chinese ancestry,” asserted Chinese premier Li Keqiang in a recent speech.The article goes on to explain that the Chinese do not distinguish "Chinese nation" from "Chinese race".
I am not agreeing or disagreeing. Just pointing out ethnic allegiances.
While we often hear of Mexican-Americans or Russian-Americans, we often hear "American-born Chinese" instead of Chinese-American. In other words, even if they are born in the USA, they think of themselves as primarily Chinese.
