Biden has Failed Covid Promises

Speaking about the coronavirus during a CNN town hall less than two months away from Election Day, former Vice President Joe Biden said every one of the nearly 200,000 COVID-19 deaths recorded in the U.S. can be laid at President Donald Trump’s feet.

"If the president had done his job, had done his job from the beginning, all the people would still be alive," Biden said at the CNN town hall in Moosic, Pa. "All the people. I'm not making this up. Just look at the data. Look at the data."

The Claim

This week, multiple public figures and social media users attempted to directly compare how current and previous administrations fared in the battle against COVID by analyzing the cumulative number of deaths from the virus under each president.

"Joe Biden based his entire 2020 presidential campaign on the promise he would solve covid by trusting "the science." It was all bullshit. He's presided over more deaths, hospitalizations & cases than Trump. Yet media crushed Trump for covid, gives Biden a pass," political commentator Clay Travis tweeted.

Others simply posted death count figures that suggested more Americans fell victim to COVID under Biden than under Trump.

False.

While the number of deaths from COVID in the U.S. under president Biden is on course to top the death count during the Trump administration, it has not yet done so. Around 379,000 people have died in the U.S. from COVID since January 20, when Biden took over as president, around 45,000 fewer than under Trump.

So the Biden covid death count will surpass Trump's in several weeks.

The claim is essentially true, not false. Biden did base much of his campaign on doing better against covid, and he has not done better at all. The news media was constantly blaming Trump, but giving Biden a pass.

While you are keeping score, Biden lost the Afghan war, brought back monetary inflation, created racial animosity, caused crime waves in the cities, spent money irresponsibly, and opened the borders for bogus refugees. He is senile, and his VP is incompetent and disliked. He has accomplished nothing worthwhile.

Polls indicate that people have wised up to Biden. The Trump presidency was better in every way.

Fifty-three percent of U.S. adults think Biden would handle the coronavirus pandemic better than Trump, while 37 percent think Trump would do a better job.

But now that is reversed:

In the latest sign that President Joe Biden is falling out of favor, the public now thinks that former President Donald Trump handled the coronavirus crisis better.

What’s more, the latest Rasmussen Reports survey found that voters believe Biden has broken his promise to end the virus. On the question of fighting COVID-19, likely voters said Biden has done a “worse” job than Trump by a 49%-39% margin.

The press and other establishment influencers are still overwhelmingly favoring Biden, and trying to put Trump in jail.
