That is, the non-white casting increases the appeal to Whites, without really really appealing to non-whites. So ads feature Blacks in order to sell to Whites, not Blacks.
I am not sure I believe this, and the study is paywalled, so I don't know if it has any validity. But it does not matter what I believe. If the advertisers believe it, then ads will be full of Blacks.
I would think that if White man sees an ad featuring Blacks, the first reaction is that he is not in the target market for the product, and ignore the ad. Or if the ad has a strong woke left theme, then the viewer will think that the product is for woke leftists.
