The latest example is Jonathan Rauch and Sam Harris, describing an article (paywalled) in the Jewish magazine The Atlantic, in this interview.
So what is a fascist, and why does Trump qualify? They cannot explain it, except to say that Trump is hated by leftist Jews. The biggest argument given was that right-wingers usually believe in gun rights, and even argue that armed resistance to government oppression might be necessary, as a last resort. But Trump officials were unsympathetic to Alex Pretti's armed resistance to ICE officers in Minnesota.
I am just trying to understand this. Political name-calling is common, but this is way over the top. Rauch and Harris are atheist Jews, and maybe that is a coincidence. Rauch is mainly known as a gay marriage advocate.
Every government in the world shoots protesters who present armed resistance. In Pretti's case, I think that he could have been disarmed without shooting him. But he was practically asking to get shot. There is video of him vandalizing an ICE car. He was deliberately putting himself in the middle of tense conflict.
I favor gun rights, and the right to peaceably observe and photograph government agents in action. But not armed rioters who obstruct legitimate law enforcement. Every President has deported illegal aliens. Pretti was fighting for Somali fraudsters, and endangering people in the process.
So why do atheist Jews hate Trump so much? It is not because some armed rioter in Minneapolis got shot. Jews in Israel are big believers in shooting their enemies. It is something else that Rauch and Harris are reluctant to articulate.
These men have many other kooky beliefs. Harris does not belief in free will, or even the feeling of free will. Rauch wrote a whole book on "Denial: My 25 Years Without a Soul", describing his life before he turned homosexual.
