Conversion therapy is fundamentally different from other forms of youth-focused psychology and psychiatry. Pediatric psychiatry can be life-saving, evidence-based, scientifically sound medical care. Conversion therapy is not that. It is also fundamentally different from its mainstream converse, gender-affirming care, because gender-affirming care is evidence-based and backed by reputable medical organizations, despite the concerted misinformation campaign to the contrary.
And "gender-affirming care" is teaching kids to adopt a gender identity opposite to their actual sex.
The fact that reputable medical organizations are on one side of this issue is scary.
This is a larger pattern, primarily pushed by the religious right, to ensure that misinformation, pseudoscience and fearmongering rule the day. Truth is one of our greatest defenses against fascism, something that the Christian nationalist movement knows it cannot withstand. LGBTQIA+ rights have provided it with a convenient foothold to test the limits and boundaries, and to drop stones in the constitutional pond that will ripple out to everyone, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation.It is funny to hear her talk of truth. The Bible says in John 8:31-32:

Not my area of expertise but my understanding of the goal of conversion therapy is to change an individual's sexual orientation, i.e. turning a gay into a straight. I've always thought it akin to alchemy mission to turn iron into gold.
Anything is possible but I wouldn't wager on success.
While I don't think you can 'pray' or 'psychologically' counsel the 'gay away', nor should you try. I do believe you can convince a young gay person going through puberty and suffering from some spectrum of autism into agreeing to have their very body sexually mutilated in the name of 'being born in the wrong body'. This idea is outright evil which has no basis in biology or known science. Doctors have no business whatsoever leaning into a mental illness and calling it a cure.
The political left should shut the hell up about feigning concern until they stop counseling children to butcher their bodies in the name of a passing vogue which is going to lead to much worse problems further down the road. Considering how few trans kids there are statistically, and their growing batting average for mass shootings and violence...you would think even a democrat could figure it out.
Aiding and abetting the castration and surgical/chemical mutilation of children should be considered a high crime on par with rape.
Reading that first sentence, I'm confused how a person can be a 'non-binary lesbian'? The definition of a lesbian, as far as I am aware, is a woman who is sexually attracted to a woman. So, if a person is non-binary,they are neither male not female, so they can't be a lesbian. Asking for my inquisitive moustachioed stevedore friend, Mavis.

Lesbian refers to sexual preference while nonbinary refers to gender identity. The world is a complicated place.
