“It wasn’t a full-out sexual act, but it was much more than a second,” Mx. Gessen said. “I was really, truly shocked.”I don't want to pile on, as I never liked Toobin for other reasons. I would rather criticize him for his stupid legal opinions. But who is this character who was "shocked"? Wikipedia says:
Gessen is nonbinary and trans and uses they/them pronouns.[4][5] Gessen has written extensively on LGBT rights.[6] Described as "Russia's leading LGBT rights activist,"[7] they have said that for many years they were "probably the only publicly out gay person in the whole country."[8] They now live in New York with their wife and children.[9]So it is not clear whether this is a man dressing up as a woman, or vice-versa.
The NYT authors are described:
Katherine Rosman is a features reporter on the Styles desk. She covers media, the business of fitness, and the politics of gender. She joined The Times in 2014. @katierosmanAnd of course all of these characters are Jewish.Jacob Bernstein is a reporter for the Styles desk. In addition to writing profiles of fashion designers, artists and celebrities, he has focused much of his attention on L.G.B.T. issues, philanthropy and the world of furniture design. @bernsteinjacob
I don't know what is going on here. These men or women or nonbinaries, whatever they are, advocate for a broad range of perverted activities, but a man does something in what he thought was the privacy of his own home, and it cannot be tolerated because it lasted "much more than a second"?
