Winning the nomination without a plurality

Whoever wins the Democrat nomination, I just hope that the winning candidate gets a majority of the delegates, but fails to get a plurality of the popular vote. Then we'll have a bunch of Democrats arguing with Democrats about what a fair election is.

Since 2000, Democrats have complained about the USA President not being decided by a plurality of the popular vote. But the Democrats do not even use the popular vote to determine their own nominee.
