Bush: U.S. still at risk of attack

USA Today reports:
Green Bay, Wis. (AP) - President Bush said Thursday that a foiled plot to blow up multiple flights between Britain and the United States shows "this nation is at war with Islamic fascists." ...

The president laid the blame for the would-be attack squarely on al-Qaeda-type terrorism.

"This nation is at war with Islamic fascists who will use any means to destroy those of us who love freedom, to hurt our nation," he said, his remarks carried live on television.
I just call them Mohammedans. I don't know if they are fascists or not. Glad to see the President acknowledge that we are at war with them.

George writes:
You shouldn't mention the religion of the terrorists. Inflammatory statements by people like Ann Coulter could be annoying to Mideast Moslems, and might possibly be used by alQaeda as a recruiting device. We should pretend that there is nothing wrong with the Moslem religion, so that the good Moslems can side with us.
I'm told that alQaeda recruits by telling Mohammedans that the West is dominated by Christian weaklings who will not stand up for their beliefs, and that a few bombs will intimidate us into submission. If the terrorists were convinced that we were willing and able to strike back at the core of their evil institutions, then they would not be committing terrorism.

Hi Roger from England!

You're quite a piece of work aren't you? Do you know that Europe and the rest of the world make fun of people like you? For a computer programmer from California I'm surprised. The demographic is confusing. You seem educated and intelligent and live in a liberal Democratic state. Yet your mindset...

Pro Bush, pro God, pro war. I have a book on my desk (3rd in the series) called 'Still more George W. Bushisms' People actually make a living listing his gaffs. How could such a bumbling idiot get to power???

Creationism? Hmmm. We have had TV documentaries /debates /comedies over here about how stupid and dangerous such conjectures are. Ever been to Egypt? Stonehenge? A museum? Out of the state? Find Vietnam on a map? Can you imagine how you sound to the rest of the educated world?

The war. I wouldn't be concerned if only Americans were involved as there's lots of them. But your neocon policies are spilling over here and endangering England. There are many here that regard Bush and his lapdog Blair as the greatest threat to national security. I'm ashamed to be British.

Anyway, sorry if I'm rude. I hope that perhaps you can mellow a little and open your mind.

P.S. I refuse to believe that your Civil War ever happened. I've not seen any evidence that proves to me that it ever did...
