DEAR ABBY: I am a 35-year-old lesbian. I have a wonderful partner and we have an amazing 10-year-old son. My problem is, we seem to offend people when we refer to ourselves as a "family." ... We are a family. Our son calls us both "Mom." ...It appears that Dear Abby is a bigoted against fundamentalist Christians. There were no fundamentalist Christians or fundamentalist ideologies mentioned in the letter. It was merely a dispute over the definition of the word "family". Apparently some people do not consider a boy with 2 "moms" a family.
